John Carlos de Luna of Barrio Dandy Aesthetics specializes in the history of Mexican American Pachucos and Pachucas in Los Angeles, and in the intricacies of zoot suit style—the unofficial uniform of this subculture. De Luna has devoted years to collecting their stories as well as artifacts and images of this culture, some of which he shares in this film. Along with Dr. Nicholas Centino, de Luna lent the zoot suit ensemble on view in "Found in Translation: Design in California and Mexico, 1915–1985" at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art from September 17, 2017–April 1, 2018.
